We're in Edmonton now. We just finished our dinner and soundcheck. The people seem nice. The place smells a little like barf and is advertising Cream of Crow soup on the whiteboard at the front door. All the memory cards on my camera are full. I really need to get those organized and do something with them. It's too bad I won't get any pictures tonight because the wall behind the stage is full of dartboards and a couple of Cape Bretoners are coming. That's a nice thing about touring Canada. I think there's only been one stop so far that I didn't know anybody. I guess if I travelled more, it would happen more. Like, I know a few people in Europe now, but I think you know what I mean.

I guess I was pretty burnt out last night. I didn't even mention the sky in Portage and that was one of my reasons for bringing it up. Sure, the sky was expansive in Saskatchewan too, but I guess we were in Portage first. It was just so beautiful. It went on forever in a way I've only previously seen at the ocean. And the sunset lasted for a long time, simply because the horizon was so far away. Starting tomorrow we get to places I've never been before. I get to see Kat in Calgary, then we're off to BC where I hear we will be bumping into the awesome fellas in Wintersleep and Jef Jef. I can't wait. I love being somewhere different everyday. Not needing to cultivate actual relationships. Breezing in and breezing out of town, playing a show and guessing people's signs.
