I've been reading about necrotizing fasciitis.
Not a good idea.
Edited to Add: Here is the picture that worried me. It's pretty mild, and after covering my hand with peroxide, my wound looked just like that, what with the whiteness and such.
And, this day last year, KC told me he thought I had a sibling or relative (a couple days after we both got kicked out af the same Contrived show).

Yeah, Philip, that's one of the links I saw in my research. I skipped over it because it said "overcoming necrotizing fasciitis." I figured it's make good reading when I got out of the hospital. But, when I read his story (after you posted it), it just reinforced the fear I was feeling Tuesday night.
I did read:
Health Canadathe controversymore scientific talkThe wound on my hand had become infected. I don't have much experience with infected wounds, but it seemed bad. The burn itself was healed, but the infection seemed to be getting worse. KC logically pointed out that it was a part of my hand that is used a lot, and without band-aids, anything could get inside. I'm a cashier. I'd probably be okay. I should get some polysporin and band-aids. I should've been using that stuff all along (but had no money to buy any until yesterday when the Chrsitmas packages arrived). I responded with the fact that it's caused by strep, so any of the people I sold, for example, Hall's to, could've infected my hand. It really was that easy. Money is filthy, and some of my customers are filthier. I also did a Google image search, and found a very mild picture. It looked a lot like my own wound.
It's amazing how powerful the mind is. When I went to bed Tuesday night, I seemed to have a slight fever. Fever was pretty much the one symptom that could differentiate my general feelings of ill health with a serious infection.
Yesterday I got first-aid supplies. Although it's still itchy and little infected, it's a hell of a lot better and a lot less red. Tingly, though.
