I just left the clothes on the sidewalk. What else was I supposed to do? That Salvation Army clothing drop box (I don't know what else to call it) has been there for years. And I have been using it for years.

I've been slowly sorting through everything in my apartment. I (we) own WAY too many things; things that we don't need. We have extra things in just about every household category. Too many books, 3 sets of silverware, too many pots/pans/other dishes (except glasses, they break at parties), too many crappy movies, too much clothing, too many towels, candle holders, nick knacks, etc. I'm trying to pare the stuff down to a manageable level. So, I left for work early yesterday with a blue bag full of unwanted clothes. Take note, that most of them were so bad, they weren't even worth saving for a clothing swap. I lugged the bag all the way down Allan and across the Commons, only to discover the drop box in front of the addictions place is gone. Why would they take away something that's been used for years? Maybe they found a body stashed in it or something.

"What am I going to do now?" I thought to myself. "I can't bring this all the way to work, find somewhere to stash it, and bring it all the way home. Well, I probably could, but I'm not going to."

As I was having that conversation with myself, I walked past a doorway that had hours posted for a food bank. "Fuck it."

plop.

I dropped the bag there in their doorway. If they're going to take the box away, they'll just have to deal with me leaving it there. At least I know for next time that there is one (completely out of my way) at the Windsor Street Sobey's.
