What do you think of him? I went out for supper with him once (due to a friend) and I did not like him at all. Sure, there are moments of charm, but his platform for the poor (move them away from the downtown area) scares me. As did the jokes he made about race. They were not funny. At all.
He personally kicked me out of one of his bars once...
I don't really know enough about any of the candidates to say anything political. Um, don't know about his race jokes, but race jokes are in poor taste. I think he has some good ideas about saving downtown, but how ecatly would/could those ideas be executed??
I didn't realize his platform on the poor is to "move them away from downtown." If that was ANYBODY'S plan, it's a bad one as it would just move the problem elsewhere rather than solve it. However, how can we really expect businesses and consumers to want to go downtown with all those bums around. Working downtown, I personally, am losing patience with them. I work hard for my money and don't feel like being hit up for change and cigarettes 15 times in the 3 minutes it takes me to get to the bus stop.
