( from the notepad) Written July 6, at work

Small things amuse small minds. Like $3.41. I absolutely love it when the customer's change is $3.41. Because that's one of every coin. It's easy and kind of fun, to stick my finger in every slot, grabbing first a twoonie, then a loonie, a quarter, a dime, a nickel, and finally, a penny.

A 500 ml bottle of Naive is $1.49 plus bottle deposit. If the customer hands me a five, I get to give them $3.41 back. That's the only thing I know by heart, but it's exciting because the tourists always buy Naive, even though they could get twice as much water for the same price, if they got a different brand.
