I've probably seen the Porky's trilogy more times in my life than the Star Wars trilogy. That's saying a lot, because I loved Star Wars as a child and have seen it repeatedly even in recent years. It's saying a lot, but I think it's true.
Although it's been about 15 years since I've seen Porky's, I know that it [or they, I usually watched all three in a row] was my favourite movie when I was 7 or 8. I used to put it on every time there was nothing on TV. I watched it daily for quite awhile. There were things in the movie I didn't understand at such a young age, even though my parents taught me about sex a couple years before they brought it up at school. "They put it where!!!??! Not in me they don't." At 7 I thought it was gross. At 24, I'm glad they put it there.
One part I can still remember, but didn't understand then, was the scene with the condom. One of the main characters blew up a condom and humped some girls from behind on the schoolyard. I knew it represented a penis, but I didn't know what condoms were and I thought it was just a balloon.
The movie taught me that guys are pigs who will sneak under a deck or something to peek into the girls locker-room. It also taught me that girls have a lot of power over the pigs that want at their pussies.
I found out last week that a remake is planned, produced by Howard Stern. I have an urge to watch it again to see what I think as a grown-up.
"The hard things to remake are the ones that were good. But this one was terrible,"--Stephen Cole, a Toronto author who writes about entertainment and sports.
Maybe I didn't think it was terrible because I was 8. But to re-watch it now, I know I would enjoy it for nostalgic reasons, even if it is terrible.

My parents had 2 vcr's, so anything we rented that was half-decent, we ended up "owning." That's how I got to watch it everyday. Others I liked back then were Amazon Women from the Moon, and the fritz the Cat cartoons.
We should watch it together sometime. They have it (porky's) in the basement at VD.
